Tim Emmony shortlisted for the East Midlands Business Link Fastest 40 Awards
We’re delighted to announce that our Managing Director, Tim Emmony has been shortlisted in the Fastest Owner-Manager category for the East Midlands Business Link Fastest 40 Awards.
The awards celebrate the best young entrepreneurial talent in the East Midlands and those 40 or under who are making a very real difference to their companies and the wider business community.
What does the Fastest Owner-Manager Award mean?
For us as an accounting firm, just to be nominated is a great benchmark of how we have progressed since starting the business in 2013. The business has grown to around 20 employees and has excellent client retention. This award acknowledges that we are focused on everything needed to achieve growth, not just the aspiration to achieve it.
As part of our application, we had to discuss a way in which we work that has made a substantial improvement to the financial performance of our business. For us innovation and technology is at the heart of everything we do. It not only enables to work smarter, faster and more efficiently, but it also achieves great time savings for our clients too.
Being at the forefront of advancements in our industry allows us to outsource whole finance functions for our clients. When we outsource, instead of having one person working on a particular project, we might have 6 or 7 across lots of skill sets. Our management accountants will only ever get involved when they need to, meaning the hourly rate charged is linked only to those hours and not all 40.
Clients also benefit from having our team when they need them – week one of a month might actually need 70-80 hours, which clearly one person couldn’t do. The following week maybe 10 hours is all that’s needed. Our clients only pay for around 30 hours and they have all the skills they should need on tap, accessing different skills as and when required and not having to worry about holidays, sickness, recruitment and other issues that normally come with employing people.
